As a small local family-run company we only have local guides that lives in Tromso all year, and will give the adventures from our hearts!
For us its not only about "miss Aurora", but also about meeting people that has an impact on our soul- the fresh smell from the sea, the peace,
the sound of the river and the clear beautiful colours that sorrounds us. "We are so grateful to be able to withness the exact moment
when mother nature reveals herself to you, in all her glory"
On the Northern side Kvaløya (Whale island), a 40 minutes’ drive through amazing coastal scenery you will find the most charming place called Risvika.
This is our homeplace, and for generations my family have lived by farming and fishing here on the coast. As time has passed, things have changed and now the farm no longer has animals.
One day my father sat under the magic of the the northern lights when he decided to share with people the amazing gift of nature. That was when Tromso Friluftsenter was established.
Since 2004 we have had the pleasure to welcome guests from around the world into our hearts and home. Our specialty is small groups, with local guides, and a family that gives the real authentic Northern Norwegian charm that makes our guests come back year after year.
We have been interviewed by newspapers and have also been part of the documentary made by NRK “Jakten på nordlyset” (“The northern light hunt”).
We can offer tailor made solutions if requested.
