I have carried out scientific work on the ecology of humpback whales in Northern Norway for many years and I have worked together with numerous whale watching companies. The tours by Tromsø Friluftsenter are of a very high quality. They are both knowledgeable and they show genuine respect for the whales and the nature and they follow strict guidelines for whale watching activities in the region. I would highly recommend going out on a trip with them.

Fredrik Broms Founder of the NNHWC (www.hvalid.no)

An excellent and dedicated team who work in the respect of nature and promote the conservation of the whales that come to visit the Norwegian fjords each year. Not only the onboard naturalists have an impressive background and knowledge of the ecology and biology of these animals, but the entire team, from administration to people on the field, collaborate closely with scientists to acquire data, participate to scientific projects, and thus contribute to ocean conservation at a global scale. They follow a state-of-the-art code of conduct to approach and interact with the whales during the whale watching tours, and have a key role in the deployment of best practices for whalewatchers in the area.
