Sea Sightseeing
Tromso Friluftsenter would like to offer you a fabulous trip where you can come closer to the local wildlife and learn more about the local history and tales from the 2nd World War. You will be picked up from the harbour and then we continue into the fjords with a R.I.B boat.
At first we set sail to Ryoya where we go ashore and search for musk. The musk came to Norway in 1969, and arrived to a zoo in Bardu in Troms, and was then transferred to Ryoya for research.
On the way over, we search for sea eagles and Nise.
Then we set for Hakoya to tell the tales about the German warship called Tirpitz. This was one of the largest ships the Germans had during the 2nd WW and was sunk by British bombers. Over 1500 people lost their lives in this battle, and it is considered one of the biggest defeats the Germans suffered during the war. You can see the memorial from the boat. And now we set for the harbour again. |
